For Medication Collection from dispensary during COVID-19:
If you've come to collect medication and there is a queue please make sure that you keep distance from the person in front of you.
Only urgent medication will be available the same day.
Repeat medication will be available for collection 4 days after receipt of prescription (excluding weekends).
When paying for your prescription please use card payment whenever possible.
The dispensary will be open for medication collection during the following times only:
Mornings - 10am - 11am
Afternoons - 4pm - 6pm
Please put all repeat prescriptions and urine samples into the white box on the wall outside the surgery.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor or practice nurse usually once a year to review regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. The date will be set as your birthday to aid as a reminder for you & to spread reviews throughout the year. We don not expect you in on your Birthday! a week either side is fine.
It is helpful if you book this appointment with your usual doctor a few weeks before to avoid unnecessary delays to your prescriptions.
A dispensing patient is able to obtain their medications directly from Charlbury Surgery. Everyone else must use the local chemist or other designated pharmacy.
Legally a ‘Dispensing patient’ is defined as someone who lives more than one mile (1.6km) from their nearest chemist. Thus for the majority of our patients, anyone who lives more than a mile from the surgery is entitled to obtain their prescription items from the dispensary at the Medical Centre. However NHS England have decided that Charlbury Medical Centre patients can only be dispensed to according to the Parish they live in. Please ask one of our Dispensing team for more information. Dispensing patients are free to choose to collect their prescription items from a chemist if they so prefer.
